Whatever It Takes by Leona is a less upbeat tune which features a strong backing vocal line. Personally we think the track would be better without Leona's voice shooting up into the falsetto range she's capable of! The backing track unfortunately sounds very synthesised and dull, and Leona's voice doesn't really rise above it.
We feel the tune is too short, and would have benefitted from being a minute or so longer, it would also help the attempt with the gospel singers towards the end of the tune to try and lift the tune. And where are the traditional claps over the gospel singers?
We think this could be performed really well live, if, Leona is able to shine through, the tune is lengthened, and developed in the way it's just begging for!
