Breaking News!

After being punched by a crazed fan in a Waterstones who was then wrestled to the ground by her bodyguards, Leona was in tears.

Leona Lewis has done what no British woman has done for twenty years! She's reached the top of the American Billboard! Well done Leona! Spirit is due to be released in America on 8th April...

Leona was born Leona Louise Lewis on 3rd April 1985 in Islington, London, UK. Leona Lewis shot to fame whilst appearing on the 2006 series (third) of “The X Factor”. Leona is the only girl in the family, with two brothers, Kyle and Ashley, one younger, and older. Leona admired the music industry from an early age, and at the age of five, her parents, despite the worry of money problems, managed to send her to the Sylvia Young Theatre School, the performing arts academy Italia Conti and the BRIT school (where she a young Katie Melua). Through contacts, she had small parts in commercials, and also featured as an extra in Eastenders.

After leaving school Leona Lewis scraped the pennies together from waitressing and being a receptionist for time in a recording studio. She recorded several of her own songs, and a version of "Lovin' You" by Minnie Riperton with producer Marley J. Wills. Unfortunately, her music career didn't seem to be going anywhere, until, her boyfriend persuaded her to enter “The X Factor”

Leona wrote her first song when she was twelve, and since then has won several accolades including the Lady D under-eighteen talent show at the Hackney Empire, the Yates' Wannabe Talent Contest, and of course the third season of “The X Factor”!

Leona's music has gone on to break two records already, and we're all expecting more great music from Leona!
